Currents Privacy Policy

Shenzhen Vilando Technology Co., Ltd (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our") understands how important your personal information is to you and is committed to protecting it while you use the Currents software and related services (the "Services"). This Policy is designed to comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws, including the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China ("PIPL"); where applicable, we also strive to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and other relevant data protection rules.

Summary

We keep as much of your data as possible on your own device. Here is an overview of how we handle your data depending on how you use Currents; the full policy follows below.

Currents desktop application

  • Your code repositories, working directories, and AI coding agents all run on your own device; we do not collect or upload the contents of your code.
  • When used online, the desktop application connects to our servers to synchronize your task data (titles, descriptions, statuses, reports, etc.) and may connect to the internet to check for software updates. You can also use offline mode, in which no data is synchronized to our servers.
  • AI coding agents are not part of the Services; you connect them locally yourself, using your own service credentials, and content you provide to those agents is handled under the terms and privacy policies of the respective AI providers.

Currents cloud services

  • Unless you use offline mode, your task data is stored on our servers with strict per-organization isolation, to enable multi-device synchronization and team collaboration.
  • To enable similar-task retrieval, task text is processed by a third-party text embedding service (currently Alibaba Cloud; see the list in Section 3.3); such processing is limited to what is necessary for this feature, and the content sent is not associated with your account identity.
  • Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

Currents account

  • Registering an account requires an email address and a password.
  • We only send account and security notifications and important service updates to your email; we never sell your email address to any third party.
  • You may delete your account at any time by sending an email with the subject line [Delete Account] from your registered email address to support@vilando.cn. We will then delete your account and the related data stored on our servers.

1. Personal Information We Collect

1.1 Account information: the email address you provide at registration and your login credentials, stored in encrypted form.

1.2 Task data: the task content you create and synchronize through the Services, including task titles, descriptions, statuses, tags, execution reports, and associated project metadata (such as git remote URLs).

1.3 Device and log information: technical information necessarily generated by your use of the Services, including IP address, operating system type and version, client version, error logs, and crash reports.

1.4 Cookies and similar technologies: the official website uses necessary cookies or local storage to maintain your login session and prevent fraud. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, although this may affect certain features.

We collect only the personal information required to provide the Services to you, and only by lawful and fair means. We do not collect the contents of your local code repositories, and we do not collect telemetry unrelated to the Services.

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

  • providing and maintaining the core features of the Services (account sign-in, task synchronization, similar-task retrieval, multi-device collaboration);
  • sending you account notifications, security alerts, and important service changes;
  • processing your orders, subscriptions, and payments (where applicable), and protecting against fraud and unauthorized transactions;
  • troubleshooting issues and maintaining the security and stability of the Services;
  • performing statistical analyses on an aggregated, anonymized basis to improve the product (such analyses do not target any individual);
  • complying with obligations under applicable laws and regulations.

If we need to use your personal information for purposes beyond the above, we will obtain your express consent separately.

3. How We Share, Transfer, and Disclose Your Personal Information

3.1 We do not sell your personal information. We share information, limited to what is necessary, only in the following circumstances:

  • Third-party service providers: we engage third parties to process certain data in order to deliver the Services, including cloud infrastructure and hosting, text embedding services, payment processing (where applicable), and email delivery; the main providers are listed in Section 3.3. These providers may access only the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose. Some providers may be located outside of China; in such cases we take the measures required by law to safeguard your personal information.
  • Business transfers: as our business develops, we may engage in mergers, acquisitions, or asset transfers. In such transactions your personal information may be among the transferred assets but remains subject to this Policy unless you consent otherwise.
  • Legal requirements: where disclosure is required by applicable laws and regulations or by mandatory administrative or judicial requirements.

3.2 The AI coding agents you connect locally (and their providers) are not data processors engaged by us; content you provide to those services is handled by the respective providers under their own terms, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

3.3 List of third-party service providers. As of the date of this Policy, the third-party providers to which we actively send data are listed below; we will update this Policy promptly if the list changes:

  • Alibaba Cloud (Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd.)
    • Purpose: vectorizing (embedding) task text to enable similar-task retrieval;
    • Information involved: task text such as titles and descriptions; the content sent consists of the task text only and does not include your account or any information that could identify you;
    • Processing method: transmitted over encrypted interfaces and processed only on our instructions, not for any other purpose.

4. How We Store Your Personal Information

4.1 Retention period: we retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services to you. After you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where laws and regulations require otherwise.

4.2 Discontinuation of the Services: if the Services cease operation, we will notify you by announcement or other reasonable means and delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period.

5. How We Protect Your Personal Information

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard your personal information:

  • Transport security: all communication between clients and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS;
  • Access controls: login credentials are stored in encrypted form; data is strictly isolated per organization, and access by authorized personnel is limited to what is necessary to operate and troubleshoot the Services;
  • Organizational measures: third-party providers that need access to personal information are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.

Please also protect your own account credentials and sign out after using shared devices. In the event of a personal information security incident, we will inform you and report to the competent authorities as required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access and correction: to access the personal information we hold about you and request correction of inaccuracies;
  • Deletion: to request deletion of your personal information in the circumstances provided by law;
  • Withdrawal of consent: to withdraw consent you previously gave (without affecting processing already carried out based on that consent);
  • Account deletion: to delete your account as described in the Summary above.

You can exercise these rights by contacting support@vilando.cn. We will process and respond to your request within fifteen (15) business days.

7. Minors

The Services are intended for adult developers, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are a minor, please use the Services only with your guardian's consent. If we discover that we have collected a minor's personal information without verified guardian consent, we will delete it as soon as possible.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time. The updated Policy will be posted on this page, and material changes will be announced on the website or sent to your registered email address. We will never materially reduce your rights under the then-effective Privacy Policy without your consent.
